THEY MUST HAVE FORGOTTEN WHO INITIATED THE BLOODY WAR IN COLUMBIA! By NÚstor Baguer, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - During the recent Ibero-American Summit, Fidel Castro praised President Pastrana of Columbia and said peace in Columbia was necessary for Ibero-American unity. He said the war in the sister nation was contrary to the best interest of Ibero-America. He also said peace would be difficult but not impossible.
Both Pastrana and Castro seemingly want to forget which of them so many years ago started that war which has cost Columbia countless thousands of deaths, or who it was and in which of their countries who trained those guerrillas, gave them financial support and refuge, etc. If they had remembered, Castro would have kept his mouth shut, and Pastrana, well, Pastrana would not have been standing next to him!
With respect to "coca" the plant, Castro said it was an ancient crop, that coca is not cocaine, and that he himself has tried an infusion of coca leaves, which practice is very common in several South American countries. Castro said the drug is not eliminated with repression but with social projects!
