Havana.- The Cuban Democratic Labor Union (CTDC, served by the writer as general secretary)in alliance with the Labor Group of Internal Dissidence will be hosting a conference on the life and work of the Cuban patriot, Jose Marti, on Jan. 28. It will commemorate the 147th Anniversary of Marti's birth and will note one of Marti's statements: "IT SEEMS TO ME THAT DEPRIVING A MAN OF HIS RIGHT TO THINK IT'S LIKE TAKING THE LIFE OF HIS CHILD."
The conference will take place at the home of Miriam Cantillo Ramos, national delegate of the Arroyo Naranjo Municipality, at 71 B St. between Tercera & Guinera, El Rosario in Arroyo Naranjo.
A primary speaker at the conference will be independent journalist Maria del Carmen Carro de la Upeci. Immediately after the conference, there will be a brief discussion about some of Jose Marti's statements during the fight for Cuba's independence.
The CTDC has invited not only its members to pay homage to Jose Marti but also welcomes members of other dissident groups so as to "evoke and keep alive the message of Jose Marti," according to the invitation.
