JAILERS PLACE GRAVELY ILL TB PATIENT IN SOLITARY By Pedro Argüelles Morán, Cuba Free Press (as translated by a volunteer.)

CIEGO DE AVILA - A recluse known by fellow prisoners only as "Villacolil" who is seriously ill of pulmonary tuberculosis has been transferred from the Guamajal prison in the Villa Clara province to the Canaleta jail in Ciego de Avila province on March 9. As of last reports, 20 days later, he had received no medicine and told him the only way to get it would be if someone brought it from Havana.

Villacolil seems to be in the first phase of the illness and already spits up blood. He went on a hunger strike for some days and was placed in a punishment cell when he reached Canaleta. He remains in solitary confiment at last reports.
