GOVERNMENT DEPORTS RODRIGUEZ LOBAINA TO SANTIAGO By Odalys Curbelo, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - The Technical Department of Investigations (DTI) has deported politically incorrect Nestor Rodriguez Lobaina, the president of the organization Youth for Democracy, to Santiago.
Ramon Rodriguez, father of the young man, told this agency, "I saw him for just a few minutes as he was talking to Captain Estrada, who told me that the Office of State Security (OSS) had granted a concession and that's why he had been released. Nestor had not been interrogated during the time he was detained, hence there were no charges against him."
The father also stated that before being deported, his son had been seen by Dr. Aida Valdes Santana, at the parking lot of the police station.
Nestor Rodriguez Lobaina was arrested December 7 as he sought to take part in a protest at the Cuban state department building because of the government's refusal to allow him to travel to the Human Rights Summit in Paris, France, during the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
